Middle School
Our Middle School Spanish Program provides students with a strong foundation in language proficiency, communication, and cultural understanding through an engaging and interactive learning experience. Students progress through Spanish 1, 2, and 3 following the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards and a proficiency-based curriculum. Instruction focuses on developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through meaningful communication, collaborative projects, technology integration, and cultural exploration.
Throughout the program, students participate in immersive and age-appropriate activities designed to build confidence and prepare them for higher-level Spanish studies, including Honors and AP Spanish pathways in high school.
At the end of each school year, students take the AAPPL (ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages) exam to measure their language proficiency growth in interpersonal speaking, presentational writing, interpretive reading, and listening. This nationally recognized assessment allows students to demonstrate their communicative abilities and track their progress according to ACTFL proficiency benchmarks.
